In order to participate in the NASA TechLeap Prize, you must demonstrate that you have at least $250,000 liability insurance coverage or otherwise demonstrate financial responsibility for that amount.
Per Section 11.3 of the Terms and Conditions, the insurance must:

If activities related to the competition will occur at a residence, Teams may wish to check with their current homeowner’s insurance provider to see if the Competition activities can be covered under the current insurance policy.
If activities related to the competition will occur at a University or Corporate office, Teams may wish to contact the University or Company to see if the Competition activities can be covered under the organization’s insurance.
NASA does not endorse or sponsor any commercial product, service or activity. This document does not, in any way, constitute an endorsement of any one insurance provider by any organization involved with the NASA TechLeap Prize, including, but not limited to, Carrot, its contractors and/or sponsors, NASA or the U.S. Government.
Competitors are required to perform their own due diligence when contracting with any insurance provider. None of the organizations involved in the NASA TechLeap Prize will be held responsible for any difficulties encountered when entering into a contract with any insurance provider.
